2-minute reset to restart focus
Fourth tab, second thread, and the document you opened forty minutes ago has one new sentence in it. Attention will not stay in one place long enough to be useful.

What is actually happening
Scattered attention is a state problem, not a discipline problem. After repeated context switches, activation stays high and attention stays wide.
What the 2-minute reset can and cannot do
It can
- Close residue from the previous context
- Narrow attention enough to start a real work block
- Give the next 45–90 minutes a clean starting point
It cannot
- Create focus with no plan
- Compensate for sleep debt or an impossible workload
- Diagnose or treat attention disorders
Safety and stop conditions
Breathe through the nose, sitting or standing still. No hyperventilation and no breath-holding beyond what is comfortable. Stop immediately if you feel dizzy or short of breath. Do not run this while driving. Not medical advice.
If this repeats: Focus Control
Matched protocol pack for this situation — guided audio drills and a PDF protocol guide. See Focus Control →
Other situations
- Before a difficult conversation
- Before a presentation or important meeting
- Before sending an angry reply
- After an adrenaline spike
- End-of-day shutdown
