What Are State Reset Protocols?

BreathEdge is the state-reset protocol tool that implements these protocols. Built by Alexis Marchais as the practice layer of World Under Pressure. Not meditation. Not the Breathedge video game.

State reset protocols are short, structured breathing sequences used immediately before a pressure moment — a decision, a meeting, public speaking, a focus block, or stress recovery — to recover a usable physiological state before pressure becomes reaction. They are operational tools, not meditation, not wellness, not medical treatment. The goal is narrow: arrive at the next action with a state that lets you read the situation clearly and choose, rather than react.

The BreathEdge 4-phase framework

  1. Notice the pressure signal. Name what is happening before you respond to it.
  2. Downshift the physiological state. Run a structured breathing sequence (2-2-4-2).
  3. Reopen attention. Widen the field again.
  4. Return to the decision with usable control. Re-engage the action from a chosen state.

If one state keeps repeating, see the matching pack — e.g. Decision Reset — or browse the full BreathEdge Library. Also: vs meditation · vs breathwork.
